Is Only Ohana Hawaiian?

It has come to our attention the impact that our brand is having over the Hawaiian culture. No, we are not Hawaiian but we chose to incorporate the word ‘Ohana’ because that is what family means to us. Our inspiration for the brand sparked from a brotherhood lasting over a decade now, in which we called ourselves ‘Ohana’ inspired from the movie Lilo & Stitch. We understand this may not align with the Hawaiian culture but we do not intend to mock or mimic. This is what we believe in and are fully aware that this may not be the true meaning to the culture. We thank you to those who have supported and apologize to the ones we may have offended. We would like to bring this to attention and show our respect to the Hawaiian natives. As we continue to research and better educate ourselves, it is not our intention or the brands to upset or demean the culture. We aim to inspire others and spread positivity, love, and creativity.
