As young students in middle school, our small group of friends decided that we would make outfits that were exclusive to us. Our group was called Only Ohana, and we wanted to represent our bond uniquely.

Ten years after graduating college, our friendship group was scattered all over the country, but the bond we shared remained strong. Then the pandemic happened, and all over the world, people started to understand the importance of family, friends, and community. 

Looking at people's essential role in our lives, we decided to bring back our middle school idea and give people a unique way to celebrate all the different bonds they shared with other people.

We built Only Ohana out of love for friendship, family, community, and the most beautiful representation of everything great.

Is Only Ohana Hawaiian?

It has come to our attention the impact our brand has on the Hawaiian culture. We are not Hawaiian, but we chose to incorporate the word ‘Ohana’ because that is what family means to us.

Our inspiration for the brand sparked from a brotherhood lasting over a decade now, in which we called ourselves ‘Ohana’ inspired by the movie Lilo & Stitch. We understand this may not align with the Hawaiian culture, but we do not intend to mock or mimic.

We believe in this and are fully aware that this may not be the true meaning of the culture. We thank those who have supported us and apologize to those we may have offended.

We would like to bring this to attention and show our respect to the Hawaiian natives. As we continue to research and better educate ourselves, it is not our intention or the brands to upset or demean the culture. We aim to inspire others and spread positivity, love, and creativity.
